Domestic Development Trends of Membrane Separation Technology

China's membrane technology research started in the mid-1960s and has been lingering in the laboratory and pilot scale for a long time. Starting from the "Seventh Five-Year Plan", the National Science and Technology Commission listed membrane technology as a major national scientific research project to support it. Membrane technology has made great progress. In particular, the national policy of reform and opening up has promoted extensive international exchanges. Membrane technology has become increasingly important in the development of the national economy, and the output value of the domestic membrane industry has also gradually increased.

In the past 10 years, the overall level of China's membrane technology has made great progress, but the gap with internationally advanced countries is still large. The main problems are: production modernization, low industrialization, non-standard raw materials, process parameters not strictly controlled, unstable product quality; few varieties of membranes and small application scope. In particular, the applied process design, system complete set capabilities, membrane module level, and related electromechanical products have not yet reached the international advanced level and are far from meeting the domestic market demand. There is a lot of room for development of membrane technology.

First of all, we must strengthen our research and development capabilities, promote the development of the membrane technology industry, rely on scientific and technological progress, improve product quality, reduce costs, increase varieties, and expand applications.

Furthermore, through investment promotion, technology introduction, digestion and absorption, the process design and system complete set capabilities of membrane technology application, membrane preparation and membrane module levels, membrane varieties and related electromechanical products have reached the international advanced level.
