Pure water is a widely used reagent in laboratories, and its purity profoundly affects the final production and quality analysis results. Therefore, seemingly ordinary water is subject to complex and clearly defined quality standards in the laboratory. Meanwhile, with the continuous advancement of analytical instruments, research institutions are placing increasing emphasis on pure water, directly impacting the development of pure water equipment and making the pure water market highly competitive.
Recently, the editor of Chemical Instruments Network compiled a list of winning bids for pure water equipment on the China Government Procurement Network in January 2024. According to incomplete statistics from Chemical Instruments Network, there were 48 winning bids for pure water equipment on the China Government Procurement Network in January. Excluding bids with incomplete information, a total of 46 sets were successfully sold. Of these, excluding products with unidentifiable data, 42 sets/units of pure water equipment with reliable brands and prices were sold, with a total winning bid amount of 4.143 million yuan and an average unit price of 98,600 yuan.

Overall, the number of successful bids for pure water equipment in January was roughly the same as the same period last year, while the total value increased by 7.93% compared to 3.8387 million yuan in the same period last year. Hospitals were the main purchasers of pure water equipment in January, accounting for 52.38% of the purchase volume and 60.02% of the purchase value, with products across all price ranges involved. In terms of brand distribution, a total of 30 brands completed transactions for pure water equipment in January, with no significant difference in the number of transactions. The products with the highest unit prices were, in order: Wanjie WJ-ROII-4000A, Sartorius ComfortII-UV-5L, Merck Milli-Q IQ7005, Merck Milli-Q EQ 7008, and Lefeng Genie G15, with transaction prices of 500,000 yuan, 408,000 yuan, 316,000 yuan, 249,000 yuan, and 226,500 yuan respectively. Merck had the highest overall revenue, with a total bid value of 647,000 yuan in January.
Combining the data on "Percentage of Purification Equipment Purchased by Type of Unit in January 2024," "Percentage of Purification Equipment Purchased by Type of Unit in January 2024," and "Overall Successful Bidding for Purification Equipment in January 2024," medical and health units remained the main buyers of purification equipment in January, showing outstanding performance in both purchase quantity and purchase amount. Educational institutions, represented by universities, followed.
According to incomplete statistics, medical and health units purchased 26 sets/units of purification equipment in January, accounting for 61.90% of the total successful bids in January; the purchase amount reached 3.1034 million yuan, accounting for 74.90% of the total successful bid amount. Hospitals accounted for the highest proportion. In January, hospitals across the country purchased 22 units of purification equipment, accounting for 52.38% of the total successful bids, with a total amount of 2.4865 million yuan, accounting for 60.01% of the total amount.
Looking at the unit price of each project, the average transaction price of purification equipment in January was 98,400 yuan, with 14 successful bids having transaction prices higher than the average price. As the main force in this procurement, hospitals purchased pure water equipment ranging from products priced above 100,000 yuan to those below 100,000 yuan.
It is speculated that this situation is related to the higher demand for pure water from hospitals and other healthcare institutions, as well as the slowdown in production schedules for most companies due to the approaching Lunar New Year.

From the perspective of production location: Domestic instruments have become the mainstream in the market.
Looking at the data on "the proportion of domestic and imported instruments in the January pure water equipment bidding" and "the proportion of domestic and imported instruments in the January pure water equipment bidding," domestic pure water equipment has a higher market share in both quantity and total price.
Among the pure water equipment products that won bids in January, domestic products accounted for 31 sets/units, with a total amount of 2.3296 million yuan; imported products accounted for 9 sets/units, with a total amount of 1.6034 million yuan. Additionally, it was impossible to determine whether two products were imported due to incomplete information. The ratio of imported to domestic products in terms of quantity, total transaction price, and average price were 0.3, 0.7, and 2.4, respectively.
The reason for this situation is speculated to be that the high-end purified water market is currently nearing saturation, with less reliance on imported products. The improved quality and cost-effectiveness of domestic brands have allowed them to capture a larger market share. However, the influence of imported purified water products in the high-end market cannot be ignored.
