First, please specify the system requiring softened water: Heating? Cooling water supply? Process water? Steam boiler? Iron and steel smelting industry? Chemical and pharmaceutical industry?
System water usage time: i.e., operating time/hourly water consumption/average/peak/
Does the user require continuous water supply? If so, select a single-valve dual-tank or dual-control dual-bed series; otherwise, a single-valve single-tank system is acceptable.
Total hardness of the source water? Is the water source municipal tap water? Groundwater? Surface water (river, lake)? You need to provide the raw water hardness of the area where you will be using the water. For a given model of water softener, high water hardness will inevitably result in lower cycle water production, leading to more frequent regeneration. This is detrimental to the resin's lifespan. To avoid this, the resin volume should be increased, which means selecting a larger model of water softener. If you are unsure about the water quality of your source, you can entrust our analytical laboratory to perform a free routine water quality analysis.
Required softened water flow rate (tons/hour). This is determined by the nature and requirements of the user's equipment, which will guide the selection of a standard water softener model.
Setting the cycle water production capacity
After setting the water softener model, the theoretical cycle water production capacity (tons) can be determined based on the raw water hardness and the exchange capacity of the resin used.
