Ultrapure Water Equipment Coagulant Preparation and Dosing Process (Part 2)

According to the water plant's process flow, the dosing point for chemicals can be located either before the booster pump or in the raw water pipe. Pre-pump dosing typically involves adding the chemicals at the pump's suction inlet or within the suction pipe itself, utilizing the pump impeller's rotation to ensure thorough mixing, thus eliminating the need for mixing equipment.

Adding chemicals into the raw water pipe is the most common method. Depending on the water plant's purification process and production management needs, it can be added to the main raw water pipe or the inlet pipes of each flocculation tank.

Preparation and dosing can be done manually or automatically. Automatic preparation and dosing refers to automating the entire process from chemical preparation, intermediate booster pumping, and metering. Since the early 1990s, with improvements in dosing equipment, monitoring instruments, and automatic control systems, automatic dosing has been implemented in design and production. In an automatic preparation and dosing system, all operations except for manual chemical dosing are completed automatically.
