10 Essential Protective Measures for Ultrapure Water Systems

Table of Content [Hide]

Protective measures for ultrapure water systems vary slightly depending on the components. Different configurations require corresponding protective measures. Today, let's learn about these essential protective measures.

    1. Every 15-30 days of use, the sand filter and carbon filter should be backwashed to remove impurities from the sand and carbon layers, improving filtration efficiency. The softener primarily reduces water hardness through ion exchange; therefore, as usage time increases, the softening capacity of the cation exchange resin gradually decreases, requiring regeneration with NaCl.

    2. The precision filter is a crucial component before the reverse osmosis membrane. Typically, pressure gauges are installed before and after the precision filter. A pressure difference between 0.7 and 1 indicates the filter element is clogged, and the PP filter element should be replaced promptly.

    3. The reverse osmosis membrane, as a vital component of the entire system, requires even more careful maintenance. The reverse osmosis system should be designed with an automatic flushing function. During flushing, the pressure should not exceed 3 kg, and the flow rate should be relatively fast to remove contaminants from the membrane surface. 4. The reverse osmosis unit requires regular maintenance.

    5. Before starting the precision filter, purge the air from the filter.

    6. Inspect and adjust necessary components, regulate the movement of all moving parts, and frequently check or replace easily worn parts.

    7. Pressure valves can only be adjusted after the precision filter has started. Regularly check the pressure gauges; if any abnormality is found, stop the machine immediately.

    8. When not in use, flush the pipes with clean water to remove any residual liquid. Otherwise, the residual liquid will deteriorate and affect the product quality of the next shift. If necessary, remove the infusion tubing and use a soft brush to clean the machine thoroughly, keeping it dry and clean.

    9. Clean and inspect. Adjust electrical components, check for good electrical contacts, and ensure wiring is secure and reliable.

    10. Clean regularly, wiping away hard-to-reach areas on the inside and outside of the equipment to remove surface dirt. Perform regular backwashing of the filter cartridges in the pure water equipment.
