Quartz sand comes in two grades: refined and ordinary. Characteristics: Quartz has a hardness of 7, a specific gravity of 2.65, and its color ranges from milky white, light yellow, brown, and gray. Quartz has high refractory properties and is used in the manufacture of glass, refractory materials, ferrosilicon smelting, metallurgical fluxes, ceramics, abrasives, and casting. In construction, quartz's strong resistance to acidic media corrosion is utilized to produce acid-resistant concrete and acid-resistant mortar. It is particularly useful as a water treatment filter media due to its high strength, strong interception capacity, and good acid resistance. It is also a major raw material in industries such as glass, ceramics, enamel, thermoforming bottle liners, sodium silicate, casting, building materials, abrasives, refractories, military, and communications.
