A mobile hood filter is a filter system consisting of multiple filter cells grouped together. A movable backwash hood is used to backwash each filter cell in turn. The backwash water for a particular filter cell comes from the filtered water of other cells in the same group, incorporating advantages of siphon filters in this respect. The function of the movable backwash hood is the same as the umbrella-shaped top cover of a valveless filter, keeping the filter cells in a closed state during backwashing. Therefore, the mobile hood filter possesses some characteristics of both siphon filters and valveless filters.
Filtration process: During filtration, the water to be filtered enters the filter system through the inlet pipe 1, perforated distribution wall 2, and stilling grid 3. After filtration through the filter layers, it flows from the bottom distribution chamber 5 into the central pipe 6 of the bell-shaped siphon. When the water level in the central siphon pipe rises to the top and overflows, it flows out through the space between the bell 7 and the central pipe, and flows into the clear water tank via the outlet weir 8. The difference between the water level elevation Z1 in the filter tank and the water level elevation Z2 on the outlet weir is the filtration head, which is generally taken as 1.2-1.5M.
