UPU Ultrapure Water System Troubleshooting Series 3 – Troubleshooting When the Pump is Running but Water Production is Very Low or Not at All

Causes:

1. Pump malfunction

2. Inlet solenoid valve malfunction

3. RO membrane blockage or damage

4. RO membrane housing check valve damage

5. System flushing solenoid valve damage

6. Pretreatment filter blockage

7. Water path blockage before pump

8. Low water temperature

Solutions:

1. Repair or replace the pump.

2. Replace the inlet solenoid valve.

3. Acid wash or replace the RO membrane.

4. Replace the membrane housing check valve.

5. Replace the system flushing solenoid valve.

6. Replace the pretreatment filter.

7. Check the water path before the pump for kinks or blockages.

8. A decrease in inlet water temperature will correspondingly reduce the water production capacity of the RO membrane.
