What Factors Cause Operational Malfunctions in Industrial Pure Water Equipment?

Table of Content [Hide]

In industrial production, one of the most essential elements is pure water, and industrial pure water equipment is specifically designed for this purpose. However, sometimes industrial pure water equipment experiences malfunctions during operation. So, what factors can cause these malfunctions in industrial pure water equipment?

    1. Tap Water Quality: High impurities in tap water can shorten the lifespan of pretreatment components and result in substandard treated water quality. It can even clog pipes, requiring higher inlet pressure to operate. Generally, the total dissolved solids (TDS) content in tap water should be less than 200 mg/L.

    2. Lifespan of Pretreatment Components: Precision filters, activated carbon filters, and reverse osmosis membranes all have relatively limited lifespans. Precision filters and activated carbon filters protect the reverse osmosis membrane. If they fail, the RO membrane's load increases, shortening its lifespan. Due to variations in product quality among manufacturers and the high cost of RO membranes, appropriate combinations should be used based on local tap water quality.

    3. Inlet Water Pressure: Generally, pure water systems require a high-pressure pump to maintain a certain inlet water pressure (≥0.1 MPa) for normal operation. Insufficient pump pressure will lead to a decrease in water production. 4. Maintenance of the Pure Water System: Industrial pure water equipment generally has an automatic backwashing function. Improper settings, malfunctions, or improper manual maintenance can also affect the normal operation of the industrial pure water equipment, leading to a decrease in purification efficiency and water quality.

This concludes the introduction to the factors that cause operational disturbances in industrial pure water equipment. Equipment malfunctions can affect the normal use and water production of the equipment. Some reasons are due to inherent equipment factors, while others are due to incorrect use.
