In industrial pure water systems, the conductivity of reverse osmosis purification equipment is a common problem encountered by many purified water equipment manufacturers. This article summarizes the causes and solutions for several common conductivity exceedances, enabling you to quickly, easily, and effectively resolve these issues.

1. Water Quality Issues: Check for significant changes in raw water quality.
Solution: If the increased product water conductivity is due to an abnormally high feed water conductivity, adjust the feed water conductivity. The product water conductivity should return to normal after the feed water conductivity decreases.
2. Conductivity Meter Issues: Check if the conductivity meter is functioning correctly.
Solution: Replace the conductivity meter if the reading is incorrect.
3. Membrane Module Issues: Check if the reverse osmosis membrane module is aging or oxidized by the medium.
Solution: Replace the reverse osmosis membrane module if this is the cause of the decreased desalination rate.
4. Reverse Osmosis Membrane Fouling: The reverse osmosis membrane is fouled due to contamination.
Solution: Clean the reverse osmosis membrane. Regular chemical cleaning according to the operating instructions is recommended.
5. Operational Issues: Check for sudden shutdowns or improper operation.
Solution: This can easily cause back pressure in the reverse osmosis membrane, leading to membrane rupture and a sharp increase in product water conductivity after restarting. Replace the reverse osmosis membrane. 6. Sealing Ring Issue: A cracked sealing ring or leak at the connection point of the reverse osmosis membrane module causes a sharp increase in conductivity.
Solution: Replace the sealing ring. Specifically, test the water quality of each membrane module to identify and replace the leaking part.
