Besides Ro Membranes, These Are Some Other Reasons Why Laboratory Pure Water Systems Might Slow down the Water Purification Process!

Many people have encountered the issue of laboratory water purifiers slowing down their water production after a period of use. So, what causes this slowdown? Laboratory water purifiers all have an RO reverse osmosis device, a crucial purification system in ultrapure water equipment. Often, when ultrapure water production slows down, many people attribute it to a clogged RO membrane. However, this isn't always the case. Other reasons for slower water production include:

    1. Booster Pump Issues: Reduced booster pump pressure is common in older water purifiers or those that have been in continuous operation. The water production principle of a laboratory water purifier relies on a pump to pressurize the water to the appropriate pressure required for the reverse osmosis membrane to pass through. Increased water consumption and water pollution can shorten the pump's lifespan, leading to slower water production.

    2. Low Temperature: The water production rate of the RO membrane is highly dependent on temperature. The maximum temperature should not exceed 40 degrees Celsius, and the minimum should not fall below 5 degrees Celsius. Generally, for every 1 degree Celsius drop in water temperature, the RO membrane's water production decreases by approximately 3%. When the water temperature drops below 5 degrees Celsius, the RO membrane will stop producing water. Therefore, the water production rate will be lower in winter than in summer, and users need to take precautions against cold and freezing.

    3. Pre-filter cartridge used for too long: If the pre-filter cartridge is not replaced for a long time, the water concentration inside the machine will become stagnant, far worse than the incoming water quality, causing blockage and a decreasing water flow. Prolonged use can also contaminate the entire ultrapure water system. Therefore, it is essential to develop a habit of regularly replacing the filter cartridge.

The stable operation of a laboratory pure water machine depends not only on the performance of the system itself, but also on proper operation and maintenance during use. These are all things that users need to understand.
