Instrument and Meter Exports Increased by 14% in the First Half of the Year

From the perspective of foreign trade entities, exports from all three major categories of enterprises increased. In the first half of the year, private enterprises exported 8.52 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.3%; foreign-invested enterprises exported 3.49 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.4%; and state-owned enterprises exported 968.73 billion yuan, an increase of 3.8%. Facing a complex and volatile global trade situation, private enterprises demonstrated commendable high-quality development; foreign-invested enterprises in my country remained committed to deepening their presence in the Chinese market and maintained their confidence. In recent years, the number of Chinese enterprises with export performance has steadily increased, exceeding 300,000 in 2015, 400,000 in 2019, and 500,000 in 2023, meaning an increase of 100,000 every four years, with a further increase of 8.5% in the first half of this year.

From the perspective of export markets, both traditional and emerging markets grew simultaneously. In the first half of the year, my country's exports to traditional markets such as the EU, Japan, and the UK maintained stable growth, while exports to emerging markets such as ASEAN, Central Asia, and Africa all achieved double-digit growth rates. my country's provision of production equipment and technology to emerging markets has promoted local production development and employment.

From the perspective of major products, innovation has become a more prominent feature. In the first half of the year, my country's exports of high-tech products increased by 9.2%, maintaining growth for nine consecutive months. Among them, exports of instruments and meters increased by 14.7%, maintaining double-digit growth. Technological self-reliance and self-strengthening have promoted brand building; the proportion of domestically branded high-tech products exported by my country reached 32.4%, an increase of 1.2 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
