The Instrument Industry Needs to Break Through Core Technologies

The instrumentation industry, as a multi-functional sector, offers products widely used in industry, agriculture, scientific research, and other fields, covering almost all areas of human activity. After decades of development, my country's instrumentation industry has formed a relatively complete product category. However, in terms of core technologies, it still lags behind other countries in terms of precision and quality.

The development and growth of the instrumentation industry are inseparable from the development of core technologies. Faced with the current predicament in my country's core technology development, the government has proposed further reforms to the approval and implementation methods of major science and technology projects, reforms to the scientific research performance evaluation mechanism, and strengthening the construction of both hardware and software infrastructure to create a favorable environment for scientific research and innovation, allowing scientific and technological workers to focus wholeheartedly on tackling the most challenging problems.

For domestic instrumentation enterprises, related universities, and research institutions, it is crucial to remain steadfast in their beliefs, grasp the overall trend, aim at the forefront of instrumentation technology, shoulder the responsibilities of the industry, strive to produce more valuable original achievements, and actively seize the commanding heights of the instrumentation industry's development.

On the technological front, on the one hand, we must focus on basic research, placing greater emphasis on incentivizing original innovation and core technology development to unleash the "source of innovation." We must concentrate our efforts on key areas and areas where bottlenecks exist, pooling our best resources, making strategic arrangements, and achieving breakthroughs as soon as possible. On the other hand, we must seize the current opportunities presented by digitalization and intelligentization, promoting the deep integration of the internet, big data, and intelligent manufacturing with the instrumentation industry, driving a fundamental transformation in the industry's business model and enterprise structure.

The development of core technologies cannot be separated from the creation of a favorable government environment and the joint efforts of researchers in the instrumentation industry. We believe that, driven by the favorable environment in my country, the instrumentation industry will surely continue to thrive!
