The Langfang Environmental Monitoring Center of Hebei Province Was Officially Established

[Introduction] On April 28th, six environmental inspection commissioner offices and eleven municipal environmental monitoring centers in Hebei Province were officially established in their respective locations. This day also marked a significant milestone in Langfang's environmental protection history, as the Hebei Provincial Langfang Environmental Monitoring Center was officially established in accordance with the requirements of the Hebei Provincial Environmental Protection Department.

"The establishment of these institutions and the deployment of personnel signify the basic completion of the provincial-level reform of Hebei's vertical environmental management system. From this day forward, Hebei's environmental management will officially operate under the new system," said Chen Guoying, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Hebei Provincial Environmental Protection Department. "The vertical reform of Hebei's environmental protection system is not merely an adjustment of affiliation; it involves the restructuring of fundamental systems such as environmental monitoring, inspection, and enforcement, representing a fundamental reform of the environmental protection management system."

The unveiling of these new institutions reflects the restructuring of Hebei's environmental monitoring system. "We established provincial environmental monitoring centers stationed in cities to implement provincial-level monitoring and assessment of ecological and environmental quality. This is to further ensure the authority, authenticity, and reliability of monitoring data, and gradually build a management model centered on environmental quality," Chen Guoying explained.

"Next, we will rely on the 11 municipal environmental monitoring centers to centralize the authority for monitoring ambient air quality in all 142 counties (cities, districts) of the province, and add 194 monitoring points in 168 counties (cities, districts)," Xie Jianfeng, head of the Hebei Provincial Environmental Monitoring Center, said. "In fact, the new environmental monitoring system in Hebei has been in trial operation since March. On April 15, we released for the first time the ranking of ambient air quality in all 168 counties (cities, districts) and 8 transmission channel cities in March, and for the first time ranked and released the air quality improvement rate of all 11 prefecture-level cities and 168 counties (cities, districts). These are key tasks for Hebei's provincial environmental monitoring after the vertical reform."
