Analysis of Common Faults in Pure Water Equipment

Recently, UPU has received several inquiries from customers regarding malfunctions in their pure water equipment. Often, we can use simple methods to diagnose the problem and make a more accurate judgment. Below, we summarize some common malfunctions of pure water equipment and their solutions.

    I. High-pressure pump of pure water treatment equipment does not start, unable to produce water

    1. Check for power outage and ensure the plug is inserted.

    2. Check if the low-pressure switch is malfunctioning and cannot connect the power.

    3. Check if the water pump and transformer are short-circuited, or if the overall wiring is incorrect.

    4. Check if the high-pressure switch or water level controller is malfunctioning and cannot reset.

    5. Check if the computer box is faulty (for microcomputer models).

II. High-pressure pump works normally, but cannot produce water

    1. High-pressure pump loses pressure.

    2. Inlet solenoid valve is faulty and cannot allow water to enter (neither pure water nor wastewater) (is it connected incorrectly?)

    3. Pre-filter is clogged (neither pure water nor wastewater can enter). 4. No or very little wastewater)

    5. Check valve malfunction (wastewater present, no pure water)

    6. Automatic flushing solenoid valve malfunction, unable to close effectively (constantly in flushing state)

    7. RO membrane blockage

    III. High-pressure pump not stopping

    1. High-pressure pump pressure insufficient, unable to reach the set pressure

    2. Check valve blockage, no pure water output

    3. High-pressure pump malfunction, unable to start

IV. High-pressure pump stopped, but wastewater continues

    1. Solenoid valve malfunction, unable to effectively shut off water

    2. Computer box malfunction, unable to shut off the solenoid valve Solenoid valve (referring to microcomputer type)

    3. Check valve pressure relief (low wastewater flow)

    V. Machine repeatedly starts and stops after filling with water

    1. Insufficient raw water pressure

    2. Check valve pressure relief

    3. Malfunctioning high-pressure switch or level switch

    4. System pressure relief

VI. Pure water equipment pressure tank is full, but pure water cannot flow out

    1. Pressure tank pressure dropped

    2. Post-activated carbon filter clogged

    VII. Insufficient pure water flow

    1. Pre-filter clogged

    2. Insufficient high-pressure pump pressure

    3. RO membrane clogged

    4. Wastewater valve or wastewater proportioner overly conductive

    5. Post-activated carbon filter clogged

    6. Insufficient pressure in the pressure tank or internal damage

VIII. What causes water leakage near pipe joints?

    1. Check if the PE pipe end is cut flat.

    2. Check if the pipe plug is properly inserted.

    3. Check if the nuts are tightened.

IX. What causes abnormal noise during the operation of the pure water equipment?

    1. Check if the check valve is malfunctioning or aging.

    2. Check if there is a problem with the high-pressure pump.

    X. What causes the daily water production of the pure water equipment to fall short of requirements?

    1. Check if the calculation is incorrect.

    2. Check if the water pump pressure is sufficient (0.6 MPa).

    3. Check if the wastewater valve or wastewater proportioner is over-conducting.

    4. Check if the water temperature is too low.

The above are common fault analyses of pure water equipment compiled by the marketing department of Sichuan Youpu Ultrapure Technology. For more information on pure water equipment, please call our 24-hour nationwide customer service hotline 400-884-6567.
