[Introduction] On July 25th, it was learned from the official website of the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA) that the CNCA and the State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) jointly issued a notice regarding the 2017 special supervision and inspection of the accreditation of food inspection institutions.

According to the notice, the CNCA and the SFDA will randomly select 200 food inspection institutions in all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) across the country for inspection. The on-site inspections will be conducted from July to September.
Ten institutions will be selected from each of the nine regions with a large number of food inspection institutions: Shandong, Henan, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Liaoning, and Yunnan. Five institutions will be selected from each of the other provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities). The inspectors were randomly selected by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China and the State Food and Drug Administration from an established expert pool, forming a total of 40 inspection teams. Each inspection team consisted of 3 inspectors (one of whom served as the team leader), and each team inspected 5 food testing institutions.
