May 10th, 2017, marked China's first "China Brand Day." The establishment of this day reflects the nation's high regard for brand building and demonstrates its firm commitment to implementing a brand strategy, signifying that brands have risen to the level of a national strategy. Therefore, today is just the beginning; it's easy to imagine that nationwide "brand+" activities will flourish even more.
Economically strong nations have always been brand-strong nations. If consumers know America through Apple and Boeing, and Germany through Mercedes-Benz and Siemens, then the world is also learning about rapidly developing China through shining Chinese brands such as Haier, Huawei, Alibaba, and the Bank of China. Currently, my country has the conditions to accelerate brand development, and developing a brand economy is timely.
In the Chinese analytical instrument market, brand building has always been a core breakthrough point. Building a strong nation in instrument brands will undoubtedly rapidly enhance China's cultural soft power and influence in the international arena. For a long time, foreign brands have dominated, leaving domestically produced analytical instruments in an awkward position. Imported instruments, with their leading advantages in instrument technology and product structure, are widely favored in the domestic instrument procurement and application markets. However, it cannot be ignored that, relying on a firm belief in innovation, continuous breakthroughs in leading technologies, and the improvement and upgrading of instrument application services, domestic instrument manufacturers are now enjoying a double harvest in market revenue and brand building.
As Zhao Ping, Director of the International Trade Research Department of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stated, the development and construction of Chinese brands cannot rely solely on establishing a Brand Day; more effort is needed. All enterprises should plan ahead and comprehensively build a brand protection system to support the rapid development of Chinese brands.
In the instrument industry, we have reason to believe that the vigorous development of Brand Day will help raise awareness of instrument brands, strengthen brand protection, and help upgrade the supply and demand structures; it will also help the instrument industry expand the market influence of independent brands, thereby building consumer confidence in independent brand products; furthermore, it will help build a platform for exchange among independent brands, showcase the development achievements of independent brands, share the successful experiences of well-known independent brands, and establish a positive image for Chinese independent brands. Brand building is a long-term and arduous task, requiring all sectors to treat every day as "China Brand Day," leading new development with new concepts, and making persistent and unremitting efforts to jointly promote Chinese brands into a new era. Clearly, the importance of brand building is self-evident during this crucial period of the rise of the national instrument industry.
