    Ultrapure water system filters are consumables with a limited lifespan, which is influenced by many factors such as raw water quality, usage frequency, and user habits. So, how do we determine when a filter needs replacement?


    How to Determine if the Filter Cartridge of an Ultrapure Water System Needs to Be Replaced?


    I. Reduced Water Flow

    If the water flow decreases even without changes in temperature or pressure, it's likely due to a clogged filter. Try cleaning the filter. If the flow remains low after cleaning, the filter has likely reached the end of its lifespan and needs replacement.


    II. Rapid Water Flow

    If the water output increases significantly, it suggests a damaged reverse osmosis membrane that has lost its filtration function. Replace the RO membrane.


    III. Substandard Water Quality

    If the water quality consistently fails to meet standards without other issues, replace the filter. 


    IV. Reaching Theoretical Time Values

    Under normal circumstances, except in areas with severe water pollution, ultrapure water system consumables have a replacement cycle. Ulupure provides the following recommendations for consumable replacement time:


    1. Pretreatment Column: Primarily filters out rust, sediment, fibers, and other filterable impurities, reducing residual chlorine, heavy metals, discoloration, odor, and some organic matter in the water. The recommended replacement cycle is 3-6 months.


    2. Reverse Osmosis Column: Effectively intercepts bacteria, heavy metals, and organic matter in the water; impurity removal rate can reach 95-99%. The recommended replacement cycle is 18-24 months.


    3. Ultrapure Water Column: Further purifies the water quality, producing ultrapure water that meets laboratory requirements. Replacement is recommended after producing 1.0 ton of ultrapure water at an influent flow rate of 15 μs/cm.


    When using an ultrapure water system, paying attention to filter replacement will maintain good output water and water quality, and also ensure the equipment's service life.
