Activated carbon fiber is made by creating densely distributed micropores with a diameter of approximately 20 Å on the outer surface of carbon fibers with a single filament diameter of only 8-30 micrometers using a special process. These micropores have an extremely strong adsorption capacity for certain molecules. Compared with traditional granular activated carbon, activated carbon fiber has unique advantages such as strong adsorption capacity, fast adsorption speed, fast desorption speed, and simple desorption.
Applications:
Activated carbon fiber is a high-tech product with excellent adsorption performance and has a wide range of applications, such as air purification, solvent recovery, water purification, protective masks, gas masks, deodorization, odor removal catalysis, battery plates, and cigarette filters.
1. Solvent Recovery: Used for gas purification, gas separation, and solvent recovery (especially corrosive chlorinated hydrocarbons, commercially applicable solvents, and low-boiling-point solvents).
2. Air Purification: Utilizing activated carbon fibers to adsorb airborne dust, pollen, bacteria, viruses, various odors, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, ozone, and volatile substances such as benzene, phenols, ethers, aldehydes, and gasoline, resulting in fresh air. This device can be applied to aircraft cabins, trains, automobiles, hotels, hospitals, offices, computer rooms, conference rooms, and residences.
3. Wastewater Treatment: Used for treating circulating water and naphthenic acid wastewater in pharmaceutical factories, dyeing plants, and oil refineries; removing odors, color, and trace impurities from edible alcohol.
4. Water Purification: Used for decolorization and deodorization in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, sugar refining, and brewing industries; and for purifying drinking water for the electronics industry.
5. Protective Equipment: Felt and cloth are used to make protective clothing, hats, and masks against toxic gases. These items are characterized by excellent adsorption and shielding capabilities against toxic gases.
6. Medical and Bioengineering Applications: Manufacturing high-performance capacitors; electrodes for batteries with high storage capacity, high conductivity, good charge/discharge performance, and reusability; activated carbon fiber can be used directly as electrode material without any treatment, is very stable in air, has low bulk density, is flexible and bendable, and can be made into flexible capacitors and batteries of various shapes.
7. Consumer Products: Refrigerator deodorization, fruit and vegetable preservation, household water purifiers, deodorizing products, disease-preventing insoles, and hygiene and health care shorts.
