Most ultrapure water systems use PP cotton filter cartridges for pre-treatment and filtration of water. PP cotton filter cartridges can filter out 80% of impurities. The quality of the pre-treated water directly affects the overall water quality of the system, making the quality of the PP filter cartridge crucial for ultrapure water systems.
PP Cotton Filter Cartridge Introduction: PP cotton filter cartridges, also known as melt-blown filter cartridges, are fiber filter cartridges made of polypropylene (a plastic raw material, also called PP material). PP cotton filter cartridges have uniform and dense pores, a deep filtration structure with a loose outer layer and a dense inner layer, and possess excellent characteristics such as high filtration efficiency and resistance to acids and alkalis. Their main function is to filter impurities of different particle sizes.
PP cotton filter cartridges work by compressing and expanding. Their pore size determines the filtration accuracy. While allowing water to pass through, smaller pore sizes result in higher filtration accuracy. They play a crucial role in filtering impurities from water. Prolonged filtration of impurities can easily clog the filter cartridge, so it is recommended to replace it every 3-6 months.
This article discusses the manufacturing principle of PP filter cartridges, which involves compression and expansion. Since we cannot discern fiber density to determine pore size, we typically use the following two points:
1. Quality assessment: For filter cartridges of the same specifications, the greater the weight, the higher the density, the smaller the pore size, and the better the quality.
2. Better compressibility: Higher compressibility also indicates better quality, because greater compression results in smaller pore sizes and better filtration.
