In many of our pure water and ultrapure water systems, ultraviolet (UV) light is an essential component. Post-treatment in the purification process typically uses two wavelengths: 254nm and 185nm.
254nm primarily serves a bactericidal function. However, it's a common misconception that UV light directly kills bacteria. UV light only disrupts the DNA structure of bacteria, preventing them from reproducing and ultimately causing their death. 254nm is generally placed before the RO (reverse osmosis) system to prevent bacterial contamination of the membrane. 185nm, on the other hand, generates hydroxyl groups in the water, rapidly oxidizing and decomposing organic matter into CO2 and H2O. It's commonly used to remove total organic matter (TOC), reducing the organic content in the water through UV light, depending on specific requirements.

1. Regarding the need to replace the sleeve: It is recommended to replace it every 1-4 years. This depends on water quality requirements and actual conditions.
2. Lamp replacement: Generally, it is recommended to replace it after 8000 hours. Normally, it can be replaced annually. It is best to choose original manufacturer lamps. If replacement is needed, please carefully check the power and voltage.
3. Voltage regulator: To avoid burning out the voltage regulator, pay attention to ventilation and heat dissipation during use.
UV equipment is relatively simple. Normal use generally does not cause problems. Regular lamp replacement is necessary. It is important to note that prolonged water shortage is a serious concern, as it will burn out the voltage regulator and lamps.
