    Reverse osmosis (RO) technology is increasingly used in the water treatment industry. Maintaining the membrane system effectively ensures operational performance and extends its lifespan. Simply put, this involves rinsing and cleaning the RO membrane.

    1. Rinsing

    Rinsing is generally performed before starting the RO system or after shutting it down, using either RO feed water or product water.

    2. Cleaning

    Cleaning refers to the chemical cleaning of the RO system after a period of operation. The cleaning system includes a cleaning tank, a cleaning pump, and a security filter.

    Cleaning Tank Volume

    Theoretical cleaning tank volume = volume of cleaning solution required for the membrane elements + volume of the piping system + volume of the security filter;

    The actual cleaning tank volume should have a 20% margin. Actual volume = 1.2 × theoretical volume.
