Water samples are physical evidence and data obtained from various water bodies and types. Proper and strict management of water samples is essential for obtaining reliable monitoring data. This standard specifies the methods and procedures for water sample management.

Water Sample Label Design

After collection, water samples are often divided into several portions according to different analytical requirements, and preservatives are added to each portion. A complete water sample label should be attached to each sample. The design of the water sample label can be based on the actual situation and generally includes: sampling purpose, project code, number and location of monitoring points, monitoring date, time, and sampling personnel. The label should be filled out with indelible ink and firmly affixed to the outer wall of the container holding the water sample.

For items requiring on-site testing, such as pH value, conductivity, temperature, and flow rate, records should be made according to Table 2, and on-site records (see Table 1) should be properly preserved.
