Different fields often have different requirements for water quality, and ultrapure water equipment produces water that is virtually free of impurities, meeting the water needs of various industries. Under normal circumstances, after using ultrapure water equipment for a period of time, we find that water production slows down, which many customers find puzzling. Today, we will introduce the reasons for the slowdown in ultrapure water production, which can be divided into the following situations:
1. Filter Cartridge Clogged
One of the most common equipment failures is filter cartridge clogging. With increasingly serious secondary pollution of tap water, filter cartridges are inevitably clogged if pipe repairs are also needed. In residential areas, due to a lack of dedicated maintenance personnel, filter cartridges are rarely replaced, making clogging very common. Replacing filter cartridges is extremely important for extending the lifespan of the equipment.
2. Membrane Clogged
If the pre-filter cartridge is not replaced or cleaned for a long time, the water quality inside the machine becomes far worse than the water quality before entering the machine. Poor raw water quality results in a lower wastewater ratio, causing clogging of the wastewater solenoid valve or flushing combination valve, leading to no wastewater output or very little wastewater output. This results in membrane clogging and a shortened lifespan.
3. Check Valve Blockage
Sometimes check valves can become blocked, although this is rare. During inspection, you can remove the check valve and check the water flow. If there's a significant change in the flow rate after removal, it indicates a blockage.
4. Transformer Fault
A faulty transformer cannot provide the voltage needed for normal pump pressurization, resulting in slower pump speed and lower pressure. Lower pressure means the water won't reach the pressure required for the RO membrane, leading to slow water production. After ruling out pump and membrane issues as the main factors affecting slow water production, it's necessary to try replacing the transformer.
5. Low Pump Pressure or Pump Pressure Loss
Low pump pressure typically occurs in equipment older than two years or equipment that has been operating for extended periods. Pump pressure loss is often difficult to detect. The direct symptom is reduced or no water output from the membrane, frequently mistaken for membrane blockage. If ultrapure water equipment experiences a slowdown in water production, it's generally caused by these factors. You can also learn about the reasons for a decrease in ultrapure water production.
