What Determines the Water Output Speed and Production Capacity of a Laboratory Pure Water Machine?

Table of Content [Hide]

Brief Introduction: This article introduces the factors determining the water output speed and production volume of laboratory pure water systems, which is very helpful for related laboratory operations.

Commonly used laboratory pure water system models in experiments include UPT-I-20T, UPH-I-10T, and UPK-I-20T. During operation, the inability to control the pure water output speed can cause liquid splashing and contamination. How can we control the pure water output speed and volume?

The output speed is related to water pressure. Water pressure is regulated by the raw water delivery pressure and the booster pump. Different quality laboratory pure water systems have different water pressure settings; the higher the water pressure, the faster the water flow.

Water output is related to membrane size. Laboratory-grade water purifiers utilize membranes for the finest filtration, and the membrane's characteristics determine the machine's water production. The RO membrane in a water purifier uses reverse osmosis technology as its core, and its water production is determined by the membrane's size. For example, a 50G reverse osmosis membrane filters approximately 150L of water per day (conversion: 50 * 3.785 ≈ 150L), while a 100G membrane produces about 300L of water per day, though these figures may differ slightly from actual values.

In our daily experiments, we can control the water output speed and volume of a laboratory pure water system by adjusting the pressure and replacing the membrane.

Related Reading: The normal water pressure for an ultrapure water system is generally 0.15MPa-0.4MPa. This can be adjusted within the normal range as needed; exceeding this range will affect water quality.

Common models of membranes for laboratory pure water systems:

    Specification 1: 50G, Water output: 5-8 liters/hour

    Specification 2: 75G, Water output: 10-12 liters/hour

    Specification 3: 100G, Water output: 18-20 liters/hour

    Specification 4: 500G, Water output: 60-80 liters/hour
