Public Notice of Proposed Projects for the 2017 Key Special Project on the Development of Major Scientific Instruments and Equipment

[Introduction] Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) released a public notice regarding the 2017 project arrangements for nine key national R&D programs, including the proposed 2017 projects under the "Development of Major Scientific Instruments and Equipment" key special project.

According to the "Application Guidelines for the 2017 Projects of the 'Development of Major Scientific Instruments and Equipment' Key Special Project" previously released by the MST, the overall layout of the 2017 project for this special project closely follows the urgent needs of my country's advanced manufacturing, new materials development, environmental protection, and other fields for core components and major scientific instruments and equipment in technological innovation, industrial upgrading, and social development. It plans to support 50 directions, accounting for approximately 40% of the overall task layout of this special project during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, with a total estimated national funding of approximately 700 million yuan.

(Instrument Information Network News, June 5, 2017) In 2017, all applications for the Major Scientific Instruments and Equipment Development Project were led by qualified enterprises. The project outcomes aimed at the development and industrial application of key core components and major scientific instruments and equipment products with broad market prospects. Core components that can be independently supplied domestically, research on the principles and methods of scientific instruments, research on core components and instruments with unclear commercial prospects, as well as clinical medical instruments, production equipment, mechanical equipment, platform construction, etc., are not within the support areas of this project.
