The National Environmental Monitoring Center issued the ''2017 National Network Soil Environmental Monitoring Technical Requirements''

In accordance with the requirements of the "Key Points of National Environmental Monitoring in 2017" and the "Notice on Doing a Good Job in Soil Monitoring in 2017," the China National Environmental Monitoring Centre recently compiled and issued the "Technical Requirements for National Soil Environmental Monitoring in 2017."

The "Requirements" not only provide the distribution of 13,792 historical monitoring sites but also clearly outline the working methods, explicitly requiring that national soil environmental monitoring be a national responsibility with central government funding. The Centre entrusts provincial environmental monitoring centers (stations, the Centre) to complete the monitoring tasks within their jurisdictions. Provincial stations, following the unified technical requirements of the Centre, are responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing monitoring work, establishing complete quality control and supervision plans, evaluating results, and ensuring data quality. Provincial station technicians must be present at the sampling site for sample collection, and the site must be re-verified during sample collection. Sample preparation and testing can be completed jointly by 3-7 municipal-level environmental monitoring stations; municipal-level stations must not outsource or perform this work independently.

In addition, the "Requirements" also provide detailed requirements for monitoring items and monitoring technologies, including detailed requirements for sample collection, sample transfer, sample preparation, and analysis and testing.
